Butterfield Standard of Charitable Care
The Butterfield Standard of Charitable Care is a Butterfield Memorial Foundation initiative advocating excellence in Christian medical care. It is designed to establish a set of measurable objectives for strong quality, professionalism, and availability of charitable healthcare for the community’s most medically vulnerable. Clinics adopting the Butterfield Standard have a holistic approach to providing medical care. The standard of care model embraces excellence in providing primary care that encompasses preventive and immediate care, lifestyle intervention, spiritual care, and a medical home in a Christian environment.
Minimum Standard Requirements
The following Standards have been established through Task Force data assimilation conducted through 11 charitable clinic site visits in eight U.S. cities, the launch of an $18 million 42 month pilot program involving three Christian charitable clinics in Oklahoma City, and final revisions based upon pilot clinic feedback. The objective of the Butterfield Standard of Christian Charitable Care Seal is to allow clinics to communicate with potential community partners and patients in online, printed and emailed communications, media and documents that they embrace a proven level of excellence by self-attesting to operate within the following standards:
- Patient Care
- Governance, Policies, and Procedures
- Growth and Education
